Your role as a heavy truck engine mechanic

  • Perform accurate engine diagnostics (electronic and electrical – engine and chassis)

  • Carry out maintenance and repair work on heavy-duty vehicles

  • Work on key components: diesel engine, transmission, differential

  • Follow dealership procedures and standards (quality, safety, rigor)

  • Document diagnostics and repairs clearly (reports, job notes, file tracking)

  • Work closely with the Parts department and Service Advisors to plan and complete repairs

  • Perform road tests when required

  • Take part in ongoing dealer training

  • Complete any other related tasks assigned by your supervisor

Profile – Heavy Truck Mechanic

  • DEP in Heavy Truck Mechanics
  • 5 years of experience in diesel/heavy truck mechanics
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic system
  • Excellent engine diagnostic skills, including electronic and electrical (engine and chassis)
  • Comfortable with computers (work orders, documentation, diagnostic software/tools)
  • Valid driver’s license + your own toolbox
  • A strong mindset for safety, rigor, and teamwork

Assets (not required)

  • Experience with PACCAR / Cummins

  • PEP certification

  • Halocarbon certification
